The economy driving “dream team” of Jim Sutherland and Richard Hill have confirmed that they will be back in action in the 2011 MPG Marathon, driving a Toyota Yaris.
The pair, who head up driver training specialists Peak Performance, have an impressive record in the MPG Marathon, claiming first place in the event in 2007 when they drove a Toyota Aygo 1.0 petrol and clocked up an amazing 78.39mpg over the 330-mile course. They raised the bar the following year by achieving 82.39mpg in the same car and narrowly missed the title in 2009 when their exceptional result of 86.18mpg in a Toyota Yaris diesel was eclipsed by Mick Linford – their nemesis in recent years – in the smart Fortwo CDi.
